Colorado defenseman Cale Makar has been suspended one game by the NHL, meaning he won’t be on the ice for a critical Game 5 vs. the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday at Ball Arena.
The league Department of Player Safety held a hearing Tuesday morning with Makar after his Game 4 hit knocked out Jared McCann for at least the next game of this first-round series and “probably” longer than that, according to Kraken coach Dave Hakstol. Makar checked McCann into the end boards after a puck had floated out of play in the first period.
