Avs overcome 3-goal deficit to clip Canucks in OT

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — It was a wild game to begin a three-game western Canadian road trip for the Avalanche.

Nathan MacKinnon scored Colorado's fifth power-play goal of the game in overtime for a 5-4 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. MacKinnon finished with four points in the game, adding three assists.

The Avs, who trailed 4-1 in a seven-goal second period, forced OT with Tyson Barrie's power-play goal with 3:01 remaining.

Colorado finished a remarkable 5-of-6 on the power play; and seven of the game's eight goals in regulation were scored in the second period.
