DENVER — Former Avalanche defenseman Nolan Pratt, a two-time Stanley Cup champion who served as an assistant coach for the Calder Cup-winning Lake Erie Monsters this past season, has been hired by Colorado as its third on-ice assistant coach, the team announced Friday.
Pratt, 40, will work alongside assistants Tim Army and Dave Farrish under head coach Patrick Roy.
Pratt, who played 46 regular-season games for the Avs during their 2000-01 Stanley Cup-winning season, spent the past five seasons as an American Hockey League assistant coach with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was with the Springfield Falcons from 2011 to 2015 and Lake Erie — the Avs' former AHL affiliate — last season.
