Cale Makar described his symptoms as “very, very mild” after the second successive head injury that landed the Avalanche defenseman back in concussion protocol in February.
Makar has been cleared to play in Colorado’s past two games after missing the previous five. He sustained his second head injury in as many weeks Feb. 18 at St. Louis, while playing his first game back from an initial concussion protocol that had kept him out four games.
“I think I would have been comfortable with myself playing if I didn’t take that first initial hit in Pittsburgh,” Makar said.
