The Avs are on a hot streak and so is Cale Makar.
Colorado’s star defenseman was honored as the NHL’s second star of the week Monday. It is the fourth time in his career he has received a weekly three star honor and first since November 2021.
In four games, Makar tallied nine points (a goal and eight assists), ranking third in the NHL and first among blueliners. Colorado won all four games, extending its winning streak to five. The Avs (40-22-6) have 86 points on the season and have climbed up to third in the Central Division, behind Dallas (89 points) and Minnesota (88).
