Avalanche’s Andre Burakovsky on former teammate Alex Ovechkin: “I hope he’s going to get his 700 (goal) soon. Not tonight. But soon”

Two former members of Washington’s 2018 Stanley Cup-winning team will play key roles for the Avalanche in Thursday’s showdown with the Caps at the Pepsi Center.

Back in 2018, goalie Philipp Grubauer was Washington’s backup and winger Andre Burakovsky was a depth forward. But Grubauer will get his sixth start in the last seven games Thursday night and Burakovsky will be the top-line right winger and power-play specialist on the No. 1 unit.

Former teammate Alex Ovechkin leads Washington with 40 goals and is sitting on 698 in his Hall of Fame career.
