Avalanche wins Game 5 thriller against Predators

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Avalanche was granted a stay of execution Friday.

With goals from Gabe Landeskog and Sven Andrighetto in the last five minutes of the third period, the Avs rallied to defeat Nashville 2-1 in Game 5 at Bridgestone Arena to bring the seven-game playoff series back to Denver for Game 6 on Sunday.

Andrighetto scored at 18:32 to give Colorado it’s first lead of the game. Landeskog tied it 1-1 at 15:49 of the third period — less than five minutes after Nashville broke the scoreless tie.

Landeskog deposited the puck in an open net off a great play by linemates Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.
