Avalanche wins at Ottawa, becomes third NHL team to reach 16 road victories

OTTAWA, Ontario — In yet another example of its speed and depth, the Avalanche produced the game’s first 13 shots Thursday and got points from 10 players on four goals in defeating the Ottawa Senators 4-1 at Canadian Tire Center.

Consistent Colorado scored in each period and never let off the gas in improving to 30-16-6 (66 points), becoming the fourth Western Conference team to reach 30 wins. The Avs leapfrogged Dallas for second place in the Central Division, with a game in hand over the Stars.
