The Avalanche will serve as host to an outdoor game at the Air Force Academy on Feb. 15, 2020, the league announced Tuesday. The Avs’ opponent will be announced at a later time.
It will be the second NHL outdoor game in Colorado, as the As hosted the Red Wings at Coors Field in 2016. It will be the first outdoor game at Air Force and the second to be held at a United States service academy.
“We are proud and honored to be hosting the 2020 NHL Stadium Series at such a unique setting as the Air Force Academy,” said Avalanche president Josh Kroenke in a statement.
