Avalanche storms Buffalo with 6-1 rout of Sabres

BUFFALO, N.Y. — It was as easy as a keyless entry for the Avalanche on Tuesday night at the KeyBank Center.

Without the benefit of a power play, the Avs improved to 1-1 on their five-game road trip by blowing out the Buffalo Sabres 6-1. The hosts did not commit a penalty, and Colorado went 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

“Our goal is not to lose two in a row here down the stretch and we had a tough loss the other night in Philly. So to be able to respond to that tonight, do a couple things better than we did in Philly, was important,” Avs coach Jared Bednar said.
