DETROIT — Nicolas Aube-Kubel is in the doghouse — but he’s certainly not the only depth forward the Avalanche needs to get more out of in Wednesday’s four-game road trip finale at the Red Wings.
Aube-Kubel, who is Colorado’s only waiver-wire addition on the current roster, took two penalties in logging a team-low 6:08 in Monday’s 5-1 loss at Boston. The Bruins scored on the latter. The Avs only took three penalties in probably their worst performance of the season but the first one on Gabe Landeskog was an errant high-sticking call that couldn’t be reversed.
