Avalanche mixes up lines, power-play units in search for spark

Sans forward Colin Wilson, who is still limping around the Avalanche practice facility, the Avs are finally healthy and playing at full-strength.

But the results don’t reflect that, with the club going 1-3-1 in its last five games, and coach Jared Bednar and his staff are turning to options instead of patience.

In Monday’s practice, Mikko Rantanen was moved to the second line and Joonas Donskoi was promoted to the first with center Nathan MacKinnon and left wing Gabe Landeskog. On the first power play, Donskoi and Andre Burakovsky replaced Landeskog and second-line center Nazem Kadri, who both went to the second unit.
