It’s hard to imagine the Avalanche would pass on defensemen Ivan Provorov and/or Zachary Werenski with the No. 10 pick in the June 26 NHL draft. But according to our friends at Eurolanche, the Avs are high on Czech Republic center Pavel Zacha, who played for Sarnia of the Ontario Hockey League last season and is ranked No. 8 — between No. 7 Provorov and No. 9 Werenski — in Central Scouting’s rankings for draft-eligible North American players.
