Avalanche goalie Pavel Francouz is injured again. He missed all of last season with double hip surgeries

Avalanche goalie Pavel Francouz is injured again. He went down in pain midway through Tuesday’s 7-4 preseason loss to the visiting Vegas Golden Knights with another lower-body injury, Colorado coach Jared Bednar said in his postgame press conference.

Bednar doesn’t know the severity of the injury but said it’s not to his surgically repaired hips, which is why he missed all of last season. Francouz also finished the 2019-20 season on injured reserve, after suffering hip and knee injuries in the playoffs.

Francouz, who stopped 13-of-15 shots and was scheduled to play the entire game Tuesday, was replaced by Jonas Johansson, who is No.
