NEW YORK — Avalanche forward Tyson Jost, despite suffering a broken jaw and having significant dental/tissue repairs over the weekend, is cleared to play against the New York Islanders on Monday night at USB Arena.
Jost blocked a shot to his face in Saturday night’s 4-3 overtime loss to visiting Calgary. While walking to the visiting dressing room after Monday’s morning skate, he said he fractured his jaw and many of his front teeth caved in. He underwent several procedures late Saturday night and Sunday morning before traveling to New York with the rest of the team.
