Avalanche forward Gabe Landeskog called for hockey players of all ages to take concussions more seriously in an article in The Players’ Tribune.
In the article, Landeskog details his experience during and after suffering a concussion in 2013 in a game against the San Jose Sharks. After taking a big hit, Landeskog exited the game momentarily to receiver medical attention on his knee and broken nose. Not knowing he suffered a concussion, he returned to the game.
Landeskog was later diagnosed with a conussion that would cause him to miss 11 games of a lockout-shortened season.
