VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Tyson Barrie came close to being the hero in front of family and friends, but the Avalanche could not hold off a late Canucks power play and fell to Vancouver 3-2 at Rogers Arena on Monday night.
Vancouver winger Sven Baertschi’s 10th goal of the season with Colorado defenseman Cody Goloubef serving his second minor penalty, this time for delay of game after sending the puck over the glass barely two and a half minutes after Barrie had tied the game, stood up as the winner at 16:23 of the third period.
It marked the fourth straight loss for Colorado and its ninth loss in 10 games.
