Avalanche center Matt Duchene, who missed Monday’s game against San Jose because of illness, was at the Pepsi Center Wednesday morning and said he will play in the night game against Vancouver.
Duchene was a last-minute scratch before Colorado’s 5-2 loss to the Sharks at the Pepsi Center on Monday night. Avalanche vice president Jean Martineau said Duchene was sick, and that he worsened after arriving at the arena around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Duchene didn’t participate in the optional morning skate Monday or practice on Tuesday.
After the Monday’s game, Avs coach Jared Bednar said: “Thinking he was going to play and then he sat through our meetings and all that, and he kind of deteriorated as the night went on and we sent him home.
