Colorado Avalanche forward Andreas Martinsen entered this season’s training camp fresh off of signing a new deal, yet still finds that he is fighting for an NHL roster spot on this year’s crowded depth chart.
“I want to be on the team throughout the whole year and be more consistent than I was last year. I know I can play good and I just have to do it every night,” Martinsen said after Sunday’s training session. “I think that was my biggest issue last year. I played good for three, four, five games and then I stepped down a little bit for a while and I just want to be there the whole season.
