Going into Tuesday night's Frozen Frenzy tilt against the New Jersey Devils, the Colorado Avalanche needed a reset after losing four straight. The team came away with a dominant, hard fought 8-4 win. The power play got back on track, going 4 for 6 and the penalty kill was perfect. The Avalanche had excellent nights out of everyone on the roster and it can be shown with a number of firsts for some Avalanche players.
Victor Olofsson's first hat trick and more
Perhaps the biggest accomplishment is Victor Olofsson's first NHL hat trick. The man they call "Goalofsson" had an excellent performance, with two assists to go along with his hat trick.
