Report: Mets Interested In Tribe Second Baseman Jason Kipnis

Related Topics: Jason Kipnis, Second baseman

It was a tough 2017 season for Jason Kipnis, the everyday starter at second base for the Cleveland Indians. The 30-year-old missed seventy-two games this past season due to nagging leg injuries which ultimately derailed his season. Kipnis had his worst year at the plate, batting a shoddy .232 at the dish in 378 plate appearances.

That, along with the evergrowing star that is Jose Ramirez, has essentially made Kipnis expendable. And right now, it appears there might be a buyer.

Mets have had trade talks with Tigers about Ian Kinsler and also with the Indians about Jason Kipnis.
