N&N: Jose Ramirez to have surgery on broken hamate bone

Here’s to a great week!

Royals 9, Indians 8

A crazy game that ended in an extra-innings loss. The Indians bullpen struggled mightily. With the loss, Cleveland falls to 76-55 on the season.

From Mandy Bell:

The club announced on Sunday morning that the third baseman fractured his right hamate bone in Saturday night’s 4-2 win over the Royals at Progressive Field. Indians manager Terry Francona said Ramirez will undergo surgery, which will be performed by Dr. Thomas Graham in New York on Monday.

“Dr. Graham will then lay out what he thinks timetables, potential timetables,” Francona said before a 9-8 loss in 10 innings to the Royals at Progressive Field.
