Bobby Bradley’s nickname and how he got it

What makes a good nickname?

That’s a difficult question, but I can tell you what doesn’t make a good one. Shortening part of your name, for one, is a pretty lackluster way to set yourself apart. Combining part of your first name with your last is also not that exciting or original.

The problem is, most of the time players don’t pick their nicknames. Either they just don’t care or they get stuck with something early on and can’t shake it. Usually it’s dinosaur broadcasters just using the same generic “Gio” name that they have for the last 50 years, instead of trying something original.
