The city of Cleveland has every right to be eagerly anticipating the 2017 Indians season. All the obvious stuff is there, with the unfinished business and the coming back at full strength with Brantley, Gomes, Carrasco and Salazar, and the arrival of the bat everyone's wanted since forever with Edwin Encarnacion. It looks like it could be a special season for the Tribe, a capstone on what has been a fabulous climb to the top of the sport. But something is lacking that was there in 2016. It’s hard to place a firm word on it, but it’s certainly encapsulated in the departure of Rajai Davis.
