What Cleveland Indians must do to avoid another disasterous April: Paul Hoynes

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Indians need a good start to the season. Manager Terry Francona knows it, but he knows there is no way to guarantee it.

"If you can tell me how, we'll do it," said Francona. "There is no way to ensure (it). Think about it, how can you?"

While Francona must deal in baseball's black-and-white world of wins and losses, others can afford to stand in the shade of conjecture. All right, the idea of putting a dome over Progressive Field before opening day to ward off the chill is out, but everything else is fair game.
