Not sure if baseball should change, but if MLB wants to cut out long, extra-inning games during the season, why don't they just play a 10th inning and allow ties? To make it more interesting, they could let managers reset the batting order and pitchers, allowing even players who have left the game to play -- sort of a "power play" inning.
