Shane Bieber set a few more records Friday night. He extended his streak to 18 for the most consecutive games with at least eight strikeouts. Bieber rung up 11 White Sox batters to surpass Randy Johnson’s streak of 17.
Bieber has not had a start with less than eight strikeouts since 2019. He did give up seven hits and three runs. Reliever Cal Quantrill was up in the bullpen in the fifth, but Bieber was able to get out of the inning. He came back out in the sixth and was dominant.
The offense provided run support to Bieber giving the ace his third win.
