The Clippers sailed into the 8th down 7-3. Scott Moss and Justin Garza navigated five innings while allowing two runs. The going grew choppy when Robert Broom allowed three runs in the 6th, but the well-tested crew at the plate refused to surrender.
The storm broke in the 8th inning. Daniel Johnson homered to bring Columbus within two, then Owen Miller halved the difference with one of his own. Bobby Bradley walked, Gabriel Arias singled, and Bradley Zimmer walked.
