DETROIT: Rajai Davis ended Friday night’s game in Detroit with a running, juggling, game-winning catch in center field that resulted in a double play and plenty of confusion for both teams.
Ian Kinsler, who was on second at the time Miguel Cabrera sent a rocket of a fly ball to deep right-center field, and Cameron Maybin, who was on first, both ran on contact with one out and kept running after Davis made the catch, thinking he hadn’t.
In the confusion, Davis threw the ball in to Jason Kipnis, who threw it home. Davis, knowing he had caught it, was yelling to throw it to first, which Chris Gimenez then did to end the game.
