In the first inning of a critical clash with the Tigers for Cleveland, Napoli drilled a pitch from Detroit starter Michael Fulmer high into left field. As the baseball began dropping toward the 19-foot wall, Tigers left fielder Justin Upton put his arms out at his sides, motioning that he had lost sight of the deep fly.
As Upton stood in the outfield grass, the baseball bounced on the warning track, shot up over the wall and sneaked through the black railing above the yellow line atop the 19-foot barrier. Francisco Lindor and Jason Kipnis -- who were on second and third, respectively -- both scored on the play to give Cleveland a quick 2-0 advantage over Detroit.
