Manny Acta on the Cleveland Indians' 'tough cookies' and some more Brantley 'daddy strength': Zack Meisel's musings

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Michael Brantley used to turn on the VCR and pop in the video, one of which his father is proud.

Brantley's dad, an outfielder for the Seattle Mariners, slugged three home runs on Sept. 14, 1987, at the Kingdome. Brantley was not quite four months old at the time.

Brantley remembers his father's feat. He recalled that the Mariners lost the game, by an 11-8 final margin. He did not realize that the performance came against the Cleveland Indians.

Mickey Brantley clubbed 32 home runs in his four-year career. How did he manage to belt three in one contest (from the leadoff spot in the order)?
