Lat strain sends Logan to disabled list

CLEVELAND -- Prior to Friday's game against the Blue Jays at Progressive Field, the Indians placed left-hander Boone Logan on the 10-day disabled list with a left latissimus dorsi strain.

Logan sustained the injury after throwing a pitch in the eighth inning of Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Giants at AT&T Park. Following his 3-2 offering to Brandon Belt -- which dipped low for ball four -- he dropped down to one knee and grimaced in pain before he was taken out of the game. After undergoing an MRI on Thursday, he is expected to miss an extended period of time with the lat strain.
