Against all odds, the great team that improved itself in the offseason has a 1-game-to-0 lead in the 2020 World Series. It was a bold strategy, one that the rest of baseball seemingly never thought of.
That addition, specifically, was Mookie Betts, who the billion-dollar Red Sox decided they had paid for long enough. Betts hit a home run in the 6th inning, after he had already manufactured a run with his legs the inning prior.
His run in the 5th came with Tyler Glasnow on the mound. Glasnow threw 112 pitches in this one, despite looking nowhere near as good as the ALCS pitcher Kevin Cash infamously yanked, Charlie Morton.
