CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Lake County Captains show some strong signs of life for the second half of the season and can point to pitcher Juan Hillman, 20, as one reason why.
This week the left-hander took a perfect game into the sixth inning and a no-hitter into the seventh before suffering a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the Great Lakes Loons on Wednesday afternoon.
Hillman showed the form that made him a second-round pick by the Cleveland Indians in 2015 out of Olympia High school in Florida. On the season, Hillman is 3-3 with a 5.60 ERA, but he is 1-0 covering five starts during the month of June and has allowed only nine runs in those five starts covering 28 innings.
