Indians notebook: Jose Ramirez’s clutch season continues; Roberto Perez hitting; Kyle Crockett recalled

CLEVELAND: Hitting in the clutch has become one of those stats that doesn’t carry much weight with the new wave of thinking toward baseball analytics. It can be fluky and isn’t one that really has any indiction of future performance.

Regardless of the statistical value, Jose Ramirez has been dynamite for the Indians in key situations all season, and especially within the past 2-3 weeks.

Ramirez has collected several key hits late in games lately, the most recent being his game-tying two-run single in the bottom of the ninth of Sunday’s 6-5 win over the Miami Marlins.
