Indians notebook: Danny Salazar continues search for answers, health

CLEVELAND: Indians pitcher Danny Salazar has been fighting all season to find his usual form, which eventually led to his being sent to the bullpen. He’s also been fighting to stay healthy.

Salazar this week was placed on the 10-day disabled list and was sent to Akron to work with RubberDucks pitching coach Tony Arnold. During a side session, Salazar reported shoulder stiffness that warranted an MRI, which found nothing other than inflammation within the shoulder, which was already known.

“We were glad that [there were] minimal changes in four years, which I think for a guy that has thrown four years is miraculous,” Indians manager Terry Francona said.
