Indians Acquire Carlos Frías From Dodgers

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Indians announced today that they have acquired Right-handed pitcher Carlos Frías in exchange for cash considerations. With this acquisition, first/third baseman Richie Shaffer has been designated for assignment.

The twenty-seven year old Frías has played for three years, all with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He brings a 6-6 record with a 4.50 ERA in a span of 33 career MLB games, 15 of those being starts for the Dodgers. He only threw 47.1 innings in limited time with the Los Angeles minor league affiliates and the Dodgers due to an oblique impingement.
