CLEVELAND, Ohio – Fox is set to debut "Pitch," a series about a woman who makes it to the Major Leagues and the obstacles she faces to overcome, the work she puts in to get that far, and the failures and successes she notches along the way.
One person who has seen those trials and accomplishments up close is Phil Niekro.
The Hall of Fame pitcher who spent 24 years in the Majors – including 1986-87 with the Indians – managed the Colorado Silver Bullets in the 1990s. The female team, with financial support from Coors Brewing Co.
