Great outings from Julian Merryweather, Matt Esparza make up for lackluster offense

It’s hard enough to win when you strike out 14 times, but when you add just five hits and three walks to that, it’s damn near impossible. That’s the situation the Columbus Clippers offense founded themselves in yesterday as they suffered their fourth shutout of the season.

David Lough and Giovanny Urshela had two hits apiece, while Adam Moore added one of his own. Following his back-to-back shutouts, Shawn Morimando had a rough outing against the RailRiders, allowing four runs over five innings.
