The season rolls on as the Indians take on the Tigers in the first series between the two teams in 2016 (the Indians won last night’s contest 2-1.) These aren’t the Tigers who owned the AL Central in the early part of the decade (and served as the bane of the Indians’ existence during that time), but they aren’t to be taken lightly either; that’s always the case with any lineup that features Miguel Cabrera, Justin Upton, and JD Martinez among other sluggers.
The Tigers will send Anibal Sanchez to the mound today. Sanchez’s fortunes have mirrored those of the Tigers–he was great in their division-dominating heyday, but as the years have gone on he has been alternately injured and ineffective.
