Francona has heart operation; Mills to manage AL All-Stars

Today the Cleveland Indians announced that team manager Terry Francona underwent heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic to correct an irregular heartbeat. The procedure, known as cardiac ablation, was considered successful.

According to MLB Insider reporter Ken Rosenthal, Indians bench coach Brad Mills, aided by other Indians coaches and by Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash, will manage the American League all-star team at Marlins Park in Miami next Tuesday. Mills has been managing the Indians since Francona was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic three days ago for tests.
