CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Welcome back, Francisco Mejia. One of the top players in the Cleveland Indians minor league system, Mejia has returned to the Class AA Akron RubberDucks showing no ill effects from an early season groin injury, seemingly without missing a hit.
Mejia has been back for 10 games and here are the catcher's numbers after sitting out Thursday night -- he's 15-for-36, hitting .416 in that stretch. Inside those figures are four multi-hit games and a pair of homers.
For the season, Mejia is hitting .331, which is in line with his breakout 2016 season.
