Edwin Encarnacion, Carlos Santana could form best Indians first baseman in a long, long time

The Cleveland Indians haven’t had much in the way of good offensive production out of first base the last several years. Even going back to Ryan Garko with that mid-2000’s team, it was never more than alright. Last year they got 34 home runs from Mike Napoli, but his second half collapse and general all or nothingness of play style ended up earning only one win above replacement.

From Casey Kotchman to Mark Reynolds for a bit to Nick Swisher and Matt LaPorta, they’ve been searching and never finding the answer.
