CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Lake County Captains offer a glimmer here and there for the Cleveland Indians future but overall the Captains (18-34) continue to struggle. One of the rare exceptions is outfielder Conner Capel, who is really starting to shine.
The 2015 fifth-round pick from Texas has hit .314 over his last 10 games, including five of his nine home runs.
On Thursday, he went 3-for-4 with a homer, triple, walk and five RBI, albeit in a 15-9 loss. In the 10 games, he also has seven strikeouts balanced by seven walks and three multi-hit games.
