CLEVELAND, Ohio - Right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall, for the second straight year, will open the season on the disabled list for the Indians.
Manager Terry Francona made that announcement to reporters Wednesday morning at the team's spring training site in Goodyear, Arizona. In Chisenhall's absence, Francona said Abraham Almonte has made the team.
Chisenhall injured the A/C joint in his right shoulder when he collided with an outfield wall at Sloan Park on Friday in Mesa, Ariz. against the Cubs. He has not played since.
"Lonnie is going to start the season on the disabled list," said Francona.
