Cleveland Indians activate OF Nick Swisher from disabled list; Swisher to DH tonight against Royals

Swisher will act as the designated hitter tonight against the Kansas City Royals.

He is making his 2015 debut after having surgeries on both knees last season. Swisher played in back-to-back games with Triple-A Columbus twice last week and was in Cleveland Sunday to speak with Indians manager Terry Francona. He batted .375 with a home run in 24 at-bats at Triple-A.

The Indians now have six players who are primarily outfielders on the active roster, including Michael Brantley, Michael Bourn, Brandon Moss, Swisher, Ryan Raburn and David Murphy. Moving forward, it's unlikely that can be sustained.
