Cleveland Indians 2017: Danny Salazar needs reliable third pitch (DMan video)

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland Indians right-hander Danny Salazar recently was sent to the bullpen after opening the season at 3-5 with a 5.50 ERA in 10 starts covering just 52 1/3 innings.

Salazar's first appearance of the season as a reliever went well. He allowed one hit and struck out two in the ninth inning of the Tribe's 8-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon at Progressive Field.

The Indians need Salazar to rediscover the form that earned him AL All-Star recognition in 2016. Salazar's fastball command/control has been a problem, no question, but he also needs to expand his repertoire.
