The Jake Bauers experiment is over. Cleveland has designated the first baseman for assignment and promoted Bobby Bradley from Triple-A Columbus to take his place on the roster.
Bauers has been with the organization since December 2018, when he was shipped to Cleveland as a part of a three-team trade with the Tampa Bay Rays and the Seattle Mariners. In three big league seasons, one of which was spent with Tampa Bay, Bauers has struggled offensively. He made his Cleveland debut in 2019, slashing .226/.312/.371 through 117 games, before spending all of the 2020 at the alternate training site.
