Bobby Bradley’s blast leads Akron to victory, first round pick Bo Naylor hits first home run in AZL

Columbus Clippers 2, Lehigh Valley IronPigs 1

Columbus got all the offense it needed in the second inning when Eric Stamets belted a two-run home run.

Stamets went 1-2 with said home run and a walk. Mike Papi went 3-4 with a double and Melky Cabrera went 2-3 with a double and a walk for the Clippers.

Stephen Fife pitched well for Columbus, allowing one run on three hits in 5.0 innings while striking out five and walking one. Three pitchers out of the bullpen struck out nine batters over the last four frames while allowing just one hit and failing to walk a batter to preserve the one-run victory.
