Box Score · Clippers fall to 44-49
One bad inning was all it took for Columbus to take the loss on Sunday.
Starting pitcher Parker Messick had been cruising through five scoreless frames before he couldn’t get out of the sixth inning. His final line was three runs allowed on four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in 5.1 innings. Reliever Andrew Misiaszek allowed an inherited runner to score plus two more.
Offensively, a rehabbing Gabriel Arias went 1-for-3. Petey Halpin went 2-for-4 and veteran catcher Jake Anchia went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to account for all of Columbus’ offense.
